Uruguay Joins the Apostille Convention
Following in the footsteps of Oman and Uzbekistan is Uruguay, which filed its instrument of accession on February 9, 2012, and became the 103rd Contracting State of the Hague Convention of October 5, 1961 Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents. Oman Joins the Apostille Convention
On May 12, 2011, Oman joined the Hague Convention of October 5, 1961 Abolishing the Requirement of Legalization for Foreign Public Documents. Oman is the 101st Contracting State to file its instrument of accession and the Convention will become effective on January 13, 2012. Oman is also the first State of the Persian Gulf to join the Apostille Convention. Apostilles in Georgia will be provided for documents required for the country of Oman.
